Denver (January 26, 2022) – DreamSpring, a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) that supports underserved small businesses in Colorado and across the country, has appointed business leader, financial strategist, and community impact investor Ginny Bayless to its board of directors.

Bayless, who is based in Denver, was strategically selected because of her experience in capital acquisition, financial planning, and philanthropic engagement, which will guide DreamSpring as it focuses on rapidly increasing its lending and outreach in underserved communities.

Throughout my career, I have stood witness to the transformational impact of access to capital. Supporting small businesses generates momentum that ripples through our economy,” Bayless said. “Especially given the unique circumstances created by the pandemic, organizations like DreamSpring are critical to helping entrepreneurs get back on their feet and stay there. I am excited to join this board and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in Colorado and throughout DreamSpring’s service area.”

Bayless recently served as interim President and Chief Executive Officer of The Denver Foundation. Her past experience also includes service as the Chief Financial Officer of The Boppy Company. In addition to DreamSpring, Bayless serves on the board of directors of Professional Assist Corporation. Following her desire to create vibrant and equitable communities, she has also served on the boards of Concepts Direct, Inc.; Scholars Unlimited; Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains; and Girls Inc. of Metro Denver.

“Ginny's commitment to social impact runs deep, and we are honored to have her on our distinguished board,” said DreamSpring President and Chief Executive Officer Anne Haines. “With her rich experience in community impact and heart for small business finance, Ginny closely aligns with our mission and core values.”

DreamSpring’s board of directors is comprised of volunteer leaders who exhibit national leadership and relevant industry expertise to advance financial inclusion. A full list of DreamSpring board members is available online at DreamSpring.org
