With the end of the year just around corner, DreamSpring is keeping busy across our 27-state footprint! This month, we’ve been championing economic equity and business ownership at all levels, from networking events to funding fairs.

The Funding Fair, generously hosted by the Colorado Women Chamber of Commerce at Gary Community Ventures in Denver, Colorado, allowed us to connect with women entrepreneurs as they learned about the funding options available to them — including our partners at Energize Colorado, Colorado Enterprise Fund, and Denver Economic Development & Opportunity, among others!

TARRA Summit: Pathways to GrowthTARRA Summitt Pathways to Grwoth_DreamSpring_Blog_Dec_2023

DreamSpring was thrilled to join a special VIP Capital Cocktail Hour at the TARRA Summit in Denver, Colorado. Community Engagement Officer Meghan Rauker met with a dozen small business owners and other lenders including b:side Capital, U.S. Bank, Avesta Fund, FirstBank, and Kickfurther. After a little friendly competition playing “funding jeopardy,” we networked with emerging business leaders and answered questions about the Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) funding landscape.

Head of Stakeholder Engagement Amber Kani hosted a webinar covering all kinds of financing opportunities for entrepreneurs for the Prestamos Women’s Business Center in Phoenix. Attendees learned about the funding ladder from crowdfunding to CDFIs, as well as the differences between banks and credit unions. Amber answered questions about what to expect from the funding process and what key documentation every applicant should have on hand.
