    National Community Lender Welcomes MetaBank Executive to Governing Board

    Phoenix (March 29, 2022) – DreamSpring, a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) that supports underserved small businesses in Arizona and across the country, has elected MetaBank President, Anthony Sharett, to its governing board of directors.

    Sharett brings his extensive experience in strategic leadership, governance, and community impact to the board appointment, which will enhance DreamSpring as it focuses on scaling lending and outreach initiatives to rural, diverse, and underserved communities across 19 states.

    “Throughout my career, my work has been at the intersection of finance, business leadership, and governance. Across these sectors, I have seen the critical role access to capital plays in creating equity. DreamSpring is at the forefront of community development finance, and I am excited for the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs and expand financial inclusion,” said Sharett.

    In addition to his executive role with MetaBank, Sharett is engaged in community stewardship roles with the Arizona Community Foundation, Valley of the Sun United Way, and Greater Phoenix Leadership. He also has been nationally recognized for his diversity, equity, and inclusion work, particularly with the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity. Sharett’s past professional experience includes serving as a partner at BakerHostetler and business leadership positions with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.
