Latanya Bramwell
Owner of Get Braided in Pembroke Pines, Florida
Latanya Bramwell's salon in Pembroke Pines, Florida, does one thing and does it well — help her clients Get Braided. A team of seven specializes in precise, protective hairstyles like knotless braids, faux locs, twists, and traditional plaits. "We take pride in delivering the fastest, neatest braids in the game,” she says.
Latanya puts her clients first with no deposits or cancellation fees for appointments. She also offers 0% installment payment options. When a government shutdown hit, she launched a Shutdown Sale with reduced prices on her most popular styles. Every August, her Back-to-School Sale is open to teachers, college students, and kids. And at Christmas, she runs a holiday discount that regulars look forward to year after year.
It was that annual holiday rush that brought Latanya to DreamSpring. A $10,995 loan gave her the inventory she needed to keep her chairs full through the season, when demand for fresh braids peaks and the waitlist gets long.
Outside the salon, Latanya and her sister, Regina, co-founded Hopeful Hair, a nonprofit that provides hair care services to boys and girls in foster care and adoption. "We believe that a positive self-image and well-being are fundamental to a child's overall development and happiness," Latanya says.
Whether you're a Hopeful Hair recipient or a Get Braided client, the same mission statement holds true: "Look good, feel good, and do good."
