Meet Byron Ramos
Byron Ramos stepped onto the artistic path during his time in the U.S. Army Special Forces, where he carried a camera to document training and operations. After leaving the military, he looked for new ways to tell stories and found himself drawn to stone. The natural qualities of the material gave him a way to explore themes of migration, memory, and resilience.
Now based in Utah, Byron has turned that practice into a small business. He carves sculptures that carry meaning from his experiences and Latino heritage, while also finding ways to connect with others who see their own stories reflected in the work. Alongside the art, he’s building a business model that supports his studio practice and allows him to keep experimenting and growing as both an artist and entrepreneur.
