    Chokechaka Artist Residency

    Chokechaka Artist Residency invites artists, musicians, curators, scholars, activists, cultural workers, and creatives to immerse themselves in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Self-funded residencies last one to four or more weeks and encourage engagement with local culture, nature, and history, fostering cultural, social, environmental, and humanitarian exchange.

    Wabash College Exhibition and Short Residency

    Wabash College invites artists in craft/traditional arts, photography, drawing, film/video/new media, mixed-media, painting, and sculpture to propose a solo or two-person exhibition with a one- to two-week residency on campus. Artists will install their exhibit, engage with students and the community, and lead workshops or discussions about their creative process. Includes $3,000 honorarium plus on-campus housing and travel support.

    Bernheim Forest & Arboretum 2026 Artist in Residence 

    Bernheim Forest and Arboretum invites artists in craft/traditional arts, photography, drawing, film/video/new media, mixed-media, painting, and sculpture to create site-specific work inspired by the natural environment. Up to four artists are selected annually, including residencies dedicated to Kentucky/Clark/Floyd County artists and artists addressing environmental or climate issues.

    Michigan: Kresge Artist Fellowships

    Kresge Artist Fellowships are $50,000 no-strings-attached awards for emerging and established artists at any stage of their careers. Fellowships recognize creative vision and commitment to excellence within a wide range of artistic disciplines — including artists who have been academically trained, self-taught artists, and artists whose art forms have been passed down through cultural heritage.  Anyone 18 years or older and a current legal resident of Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne County for the two years prior to the award deadline is eligible to apply. Fellows must remain a resident in the tri-county area throughout the year-long fellowship period. 

    Applications are open Dec. 1 – Jan. 15.

    New Mexico: Business Development and Expansion Grant

    Grants up to $25,000 support existing creative businesses with expenses like inventory, equipment, marketing, digital upgrades, and capacity building. Open to businesses in eligible creative industries per Appendix C of the 2024 Division Study.

    Applications are open Dec. 1 – 26 (Cycle 1) and Feb. 2 – 27 (Cycle 2).

    Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants Cycle 21

    One-time grants up to $3,000 are available for professional dancers facing urgent financial emergencies, including loss of housing, healthcare, utilities, or food, due to circumstances outside their control. Grants aim to cover up to three months of essential expenses. Applicants must demonstrate critical need and reside in the U.S., D.C., a Tribal Nation, or a U.S. Territory.

    Massachusetts: NEFA Public Art for Spatial Justice 

    New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) grants from $15,000 – $30,000 support public art projects that creatively express and embody more just public spaces and culture. Projects must take place in Massachusetts between March 2026 – February 2028 and can be led by Massachusetts-based artists or organizations working with artists. All artistic disciplines are eligible.

    Arkansas: Mid-America Arts Alliance Catalyze Fellowship

    The Catalyze program invests in artists living in central Arkansas and the Arkansas Delta, providing $10,000 fellowships that combine funding, mentoring, and professional development. Open to artists in all disciplines, applicants must be full-time residents of eligible counties for at least one year and remain in the region through April 2027. Fellows choose how best to use the funding to support their creative practice.

    Denbo Fellowship at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center 

    Maryland’s Pyramid Atlantic Art Center offers the Denbo Fellowship for artists across multiple disciplines, including craft/traditional arts, photography, drawing, film/video/new media, mixed-media, painting, and sculpture. Fellows receive support to develop a new body of work in the areas of papermaking, printmaking, and book arts. One Spring fellow (March 1 – May 15) and two Summer fellows (Jun. 1 – Aug. 15) will be selected. $25 application fee.

    Cafe Tissardmine

     

    Cafe Tissardmine Artist Residencies

    Cafe Tissardmine offers self-funded residencies in a remote Moroccan Sahara village for artists to recharge, explore new ideas, and find inspiration. The program is not project based, and artists of all disciplines are welcome. Residents can also experience Berber culture, local crafts, and cuisine.

    Alchemy Art Center 2026 Artist Residencies

    Alchemy Art Center on San Juan Island, WA, invites artists working in ceramics, printmaking, fiber art, or darkroom photography to a seasonal residency (Spring or Summer). The program provides immersive studio time, opportunities for community engagement and teaching, and encourages experimentation across disciplines. $15 application fee.

    ARCUS Research Summer 2026

    ARCUS Studio in Ibaraki, Japan, offers a short-term, self-funded residency for artists, curators, researchers, educators, and writers. The program provides uninterrupted time for creative experimentation, fieldwork, and research, connecting participants with Japan’s contemporary art scene and leading research institutions.

    Innovate Grant

    This international grant awards two $1,800 prizes each quarter — one to a visual artist and one to a photographer — along with honorable mentions and exposure on ArtDeadline. Open to creatives worldwide working across disciplines including painting, sculpture, mixed media, video, photography, and more. $35 application fee.

    Michael D. Eisner Arts & Culture Fellowship

    The Eisner Foundation and Aspen Institute invite nominations for a two-year fellowship for arts leaders ready to expand their impact on society. Fellows include creators, producers, curators, cultural leaders, and others shaping how art is made and shared globally. Up to 22 leaders will be selected through a rigorous multi-step process.

    Nominations are open through Dec. 12.

    UNM Hospital Children’s Psychiatric Center Public Art Commission

    New Mexico Arts seeks U.S.-based artists or teams to create site-specific indoor artwork for two corridors at UNM Hospital’s new Children’s Psychiatric Center in Albuquerque. Artwork should promote serenity and well-being through trauma-informed design. The total commission is $350,000, and up to five finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium plus travel support.

    Thoma Foundation Art of the Spanish Americas Conservation Grant 

    The Thoma Foundation awards up to $50,000 annually to support conservation projects and research focused on South American viceregal art. Open to conservators, curators, and other stakeholders in museums or academic institutions, projects may involve preventive conservation, restoration, acquisition of lab equipment, or organizing preservation workshops. Grants support initiatives at all stages, from planning to implementation, with a duration of one to two years.

    Open AIR Residency

    Open AIR offers a place-based residency connecting artists in all disciplines with culturally, historically, and ecologically significant sites in Montana. Opportunities range from remote wilderness areas to historic sites near town, allowing artists to engage with local communities while drawing inspiration from the region. Indigenous Artists and members from other underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

    This free, year-long leadership training program is for manager-level arts administrators in NYC and surrounding areas, focusing on management, coaching, and influencing skills to prepare participants for future advancement. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.

    CNM Smith Brasher Hall Public Art Commission

    New Mexico Arts seeks U.S.-based artists or teams to create a ceiling-hung artwork for Smith Brasher Hall at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) in Albuquerque. The $225,000 commission should reflect CNM’s mission of “bridging the workforce.” Five finalists receive $1,000 honoraria plus travel.

    New York: Arts Grants for Queens 

    Funded by the New York State Council on the Arts, these grants support Queens-based artists and organizations to create arts and culture projects that enrich and enliven the borough. Individual artists may receive $5,000 for new work in a community setting, while organizations can receive $1,000–$7,500 to present public arts projects.

    Bobby Anspach Studios Foundation Grant Program

    The foundation offers two $50,000 major grants and three $8,000 emerging artist grants to visual artists working across media. Open to all career stages, the grants support work that fosters human connection, empathy, environmental awareness, and transformative practices. All awards are unrestricted.

    New England: LEF Moving Image Fund

    LEF New England supports independent documentary filmmakers in the region through production and post-production grants ranging from $15,000 to $25,000. Eligible projects are long format (at least 40 minutes) by primary creative personnel (director and/or producer) who reside in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and/or Vermont. Projects must not be commissioned or work-for-hire, and the director/producer creative team must have creative control of the project.

    NMSU Devasthali Hall Public Art Commission

    New Mexico Arts seeks U.S.-based artists or teams to create a landmark outdoor artwork for Devasthali Hall at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. The $400,000 commission will fund a bold, contemporary, and culturally resonant installation that celebrates the spirit of the Borderplex region and draws visitors to NMSU’s Art Museum and Art Department. Up to five finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium plus travel support.
