Each month, we gather the best in small business resources and grant opportunities that support entrepreneurs.
 

FedEx Entrepreneur Fund 

$10,000 grants are available to 30 small businesses that are majority-owned by an entrepreneur who is from the disability community and/or is military-connected. Apply by Oct. 6.

 

Bo100M Arizona Hackathon 

Join DreamSpring Community Engagement Officer Michael Langley at the Bank on 100 Million (Bo100M) Arizona Hackathon, powered by Mission: Launch, on Oct. 11 and 12 in Phoenix, AZ. The Arizona Hackathon brings together government and policy leaders, as well as business, education, and philanthropic professionals, to focus on economic growth that unlocks the power of formerly incarcerated people. Register by Oct. 10.

Stephen L. Tadlock Grant

$1,000 grants are available to 25 veterans who are running employer-based small businesses across the country. Must be a U.S. military veteran who owns or runs the business with less than 50 employees. Apply by Oct. 16.

 

ByBlack Platform Webinar 

Join this free webinar on Oct. 16 from 3 – 4 p.m. MDT to learn about the U.S. Black Chambers’ ByBlack platform, the only free national certification exclusively for Black-owned businesses. Learn how to create your business listing, connect with other Black-owned vendors, and fulfill the requirements for ByBlack Certification. Register by Oct. 16.

Halcyon Future Builders Fellowship 

Join a cohort of up to 10 ventures founded by Black, African American, Hispanic/Latinx, and Afro-Latina women and nonbinary-identifying entrepreneurs. Ventures receive training in Halcyon’s methodology on business fundamentals, leadership, investment readiness, and impact, and are eligible for $10,000 in Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits. Applicants should focus on health, climate, and/or EquityTech. Apply by Oct. 20.

 

Black Farmers Equity Initiative Program: Acres Program

In this incubator, participants complete a 12-week learning curriculum focused on growing their capacity to take on major national contracts with corporate members. Apply by Oct. 30.

 

Sparkplug Foundation Social Action Grant

The Sparkplug Foundation is offering up to $10,000 grants for early-stage nonprofit organizations that are working on projects that address institutional injustices, support communities, and build a just society. Apply by Nov. 2.

 

Grow NY Food and Ag Summit 

The Grow NY Food and Ag Summit showcases food and agricultural (ag) innovations that have the power to change the path of the industry; this two-day event is held on Nov. 14 and 15 in Binghamton, NY, and will be live-streamed. Gain insight from industry thought leaders through panels and fireside chats, and network with an array of ecosystem players presenting their services and support.
